I am a Catholic Religious Priest working among the Tribal people of a remote and inaccessible area in Ahmednagar District of Maharashtra State in India. I am the Founding Member of this Mission which started in 1991. I was ordained to Priesthood on 01.01.1991 & I reached this State to start the new Mission. I am born to a traditional Catholic parents and & I have three own sisters as Religious nuns. I am the Founding Managing Trustee of The Morning Star Charitable Trust. I am working among the tribal people for the last 11 years living among them along with few volunteers. At present I have 86 Tribal boys and 38 tribal girls in my free tribal Boarding Houses. They are studying in grades 5 to10 in our own local MARATHI medium Tribal School recognized by the Education Department of the Government of Maharashtra since 2003. I run a rural clinic also, the only school and clinic in 18 kilometers surrounding. Schooling throught the year, (186 students including day scholars), school stationery, dress, School uniforms, food and accommodation along with the toilet items, necessary medicines are given free of cost to all students. The School is recognized on premanantly non- grandable basis. There is no any assured source of income for its maintenance but we depend on the providence of God and a few magnanimous people. All our interventions & activities in Vavarath are my own brain child.
I am starting my dream project for the rehabilitation of the beggars, mentally challenged, mental patients, street children and unwed mothers. It will be located in Nandgaon Village limit in Nagar sub – Division of Ahmednagar District, about 35 kilometers from here. 8 acres of Government land is sanctioned for this purpose by the village Panchayath Administration by its unanimous resolution to this effect on 26.01.2010. Plans and estimates are ready and the process of permission for building permission is on. The plan includes 5 residence complex for five groups of people (50 each) with a centralised Administrative Block and a centralized kitchen. The District administration is very much in favour of this project and the District Collector Dr. Sanjeevkumar IAS himself came here on 15th June.
